Water/Paving Project
Posted: September 29, 2025
UPDATE: 09/29/2025 – At this time and per MDOT, there is no plan to shut down E. State Street from Columbia to Bean St. this week or next week. There will be a lane-shift that will begin as early as Tuesday, September 30th to accommodate work that would facilitate the connection to a new water main that is planned for Elm St. Per MDOT, car traffic will be detoured through Broadway to N. Reinberg Ave. and back out to State St. When the Main St. and US-10/State St. intersection is closed, large trucks & truck-tractors with semi-trailers or full trailers will be diverted to use the by-pass and N. main Street through the use of message boards, as it is planned presently. While there is no established date for paving E. State St. at this time, it is expected that the detour will run through the first week of November. Expect the closing of our main intersection, (Traffic Signal) to be closed at the end of the week. Closing of the intersection is dependent upon concrete work to facilitate handicap sidewalk access according to new design requirements. For better understanding of this detour, we will be posting a visual representation mid-week.
